Bukowski – Happy hour
Daily: 3pm–1am
Happy Hour
11pm–12am: 2 for 1
This darkly-lit establishment attracts those who are fans of the author it’s named after (we’ll leave you to imagine what kind of character this is) and those seeking a casual bar to meet friends for a drink. Bukowski is a great option for an after work drink, or where to get a night started. It’s an intimate spot, with a charming (lots-of-wood) look to it. It also has that sweet and sour stink of beer from the night before (sniffing in deep – AHHHHHH!) The waiters and waitresses are known to be in a party mood just like their guests. And yes, there are pics of the heavy drinker and writer, Bukowski, on the wall.

SUN: closed!
shot=from 2.40€
Happy Hour
MON–FRI: 4pm–5pm on Spritzer (1.20€) & Beer (1.90€)
This legit’ Irish pub, Four Bells, in the 4th district offers up a beer for 1.90€ during their happy hour between 4pm–5pm. Perfect for scrimpers and scrapers, it’s one of the many classic & cheap Irish pubs in Vienna. With their early happy hour in the late afternoon, it is the perfect location to meet foran early after work drink. And there’s even a happy hour for food during which you can get buzzed and fed: on Sundays, you can have all sorts of dishes (like fish & chips, or a burger with fries) for just 5.50€. Beats that ham and cheese toast you usually make because you forgot that supermarkets are closed on Sundays…again.

Bricks – Happy hour
Happy Hour
8pm–10pm: co*cktails for 5€
The 2nd district’s Bricks is infamous amongst students of Vienna for a well priced, and well made, co*cktail. This dance bar, with daily changing music genres on the speakers– from 60s flower power, 70s disco, 80s classics to electropop, indie, house, RnB and so on (the list seems to be endless) – is great for a casual haunt when you’re low on dosh.

Located in the infamous and dangerous (and by dangerous we mean there’s a danger of getting real messy drunk here) area, Bermuda Dreieck, at The Look, you can get any long drink, or beer (on the menu) for just 2.80€, no matter the time or day. With its prime location at Schwedenplatz, the Look Bar is perfect for cheap pre-drinks at the start of a night out, or any big social gathering that involves drinking.

Travelshack – Happy hour
Happy Hour
Daily: 5pm–8pm: beer / Spritzer for 1.50€
Daily: 8pm–10pm: buy 1 get 1 free longdrinks & co*cktails
Special happy hours on various days, check here
Erasmus exchange students and backpackers are drawn to the Travelshack like flies to a light, and this is probably because of the crazy cheap drinks that can be consumed here. This is your typical student hang of a bar, where there’s pool tables to lean on while you chat up that cute guy or gal you’re 88.9% sure you’ll end up exchanging bodily fluids with before midnight, and a fun-filled atmosphere. You can get your shot set on fire in your mouth, or drink out of somebody’s belly button. Meanwhile, the interior looks like a flea market exploded along with somebody’s underwear drawer (be sure to check out the many bras hanging from the ceiling!)
