Pastor Timm O. Meyer Obituary - 2024 (2024)

Pastor Timm O. Meyer, 70, of Norton, KS, passed away on February 28th, 2024 with family by his side.

Timm was born on December 25th, 1953 to Orval and Ruth Meyer in Black Creek, WI. After Timm graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1972 he pursued an education in Ministry at Northwestern Lutheran College in Watertown, WI. After graduation, Timm entered Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI, graduating in 1980.

Timm served as Pastor in: Zeeland, ND and Mound City, SD; Milbank and Summit, SD; Norton and Hays, KS and McCook and Alma, NE. He also served the inmates at Norton Correctional Facility in the area of Worship and Bible Study. Serving in the Ministry for over 40 years he was very passionate about sharing the Gospel. He also cared deeply about his community, volunteering in many ways; he donated blood religiously, found joy in coaching youth soccer and helping with the walking school bus and he played an important role as the secretary of the planning commission and board of zoning appeals.

In 1976, Timm met Denise McCartney in Watertown, WI. Timm and Denise married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee, WI on May 31st 1980 and went on to have three children; Sam, Rebecca and Zach.

Timm loved life. He would spend his free time riding his motorcycle, traveling with Denise, fishing in Montana, and playing word games with family.

Timm was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Faye & Joan and brother Gary. Timm is survived by his wife Denise, his son Sam (Britta) of Rochester, MN, daughter Rebecca (Ryan) of Volga, SD, and son Zach of Hays, KS, his grandchildren; Jack, Dayton and Everly, and sisters Connie and Dawn, and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Friday, March 15th, 2024 at 10:30 am. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Thursday, March 14th at Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home, 215 W. Main St., Norton, KS 67654. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation of blood to your community blood bank or Red Cross. Condolences may be left at www.plumergobber.com
