👀👉How can we avoid the risk of components separation during operation in stainless steel bearings? 👇🌟The solution lies in utilizing snap rings! 🌟➡When properly installed, snap rings can significantly reduce the risk of component separation compared to stainless steel bearings without any retention mechanisms.➡Without snap rings, when the bearing is exposed to axial loads or vibrations, the inner and outer races and the rolling elements could suffer axial movement or dislodging during operation. It would cause bearing failure and equipment damage. ➡By creating a consistent axial retention force, snap rings reduce the risk of component separation, making them a must in applications where stability and reliability are essential. 💥 Case Study: Bespoke Grease & Radial Clearance for Bearings inWorm Gears 👇 1️⃣ Case:-Radial ball bearings were used instead of the required angular contact ball bearings.-The design phase did not consider the axial displacement path or the bearing point's temperature variation, ranging from 30°C to +80°C.2️⃣ Problems:-Due to our distributor's customer application installation parameters and the specified economic cost structure, a change to angular contact ball bearings was no longer possible.-There was a permanently high noise generation due tofriction occurring within the bearing when using a standard radial ball bearing with electric motor grease from a competitor.3️⃣ Solutions:-Our engineers produced a special grease that can handle temperatures ranging from -30°C to +80°C with a required viscosity factor that helped reduce the friction within the bearing components.-Also, they calculated a new radial clearance in the range between C0 and C3. This enabled a gain in space for the axial displacement of the balls, thus eliminating the interference noise.In addition to standard solutions, we manufacture tailor-made bearings. ***Bearing Installation Methods***Since it is very common that some bearings fail due to improper or poor installation.It is essential to select the suitable installation method depending on bearing size, bearing type, shaft type and location.Here is one of the common fitting methods:**Bearings Mechanical or Cold Fitting**Is to utilize an impact ring placed on the bearing inner & outer race and a sleeve attached on it. The bearing center was initiated when I was at Elliott and gradually became the great addition for Elliott new order applications and fast service needs. The spherical seat tilting pad journal design initially was questioned by some at first but was proven to be the standard, as it accommodates variations both statically and dynamically for the axial direction. A check that is so important is pad preload that can be verified by a bluing check using a mandrel at the same machined diameter as the pads. Some designs may have offset pivots so be sure they are installed for correct rotation direction.
