There was a sleepover at McDuck Manor,as such,trouble was abound.This time the kids had summoned a demon.
“We need friendship!”said Webby,grabbing onto Lena, and Violet’s hands.
“No!We need more information!”said Huey.
“But it’s magic!”said May.
“Just make it go away!”cried Louie,hiding in a corner.
Huey,and B.O.Y.D. looked through the Junior WoodChuck Guidebook.
“There’s nothing in here about demons!”said Huey in a panic.
“We need friendship!Friendship is the greatest magic of all!”argued Webby.
“That doesn’t make sense!”said Gosalyn,shooting an arrow at the demon. The demon simply broke it in half.
“Aw,man.”said Dewey.He really wanted to see the demon being destroyed by an arrow.
“We need friendship!”insisted Webby.
But Webby,Lena, and Violet’s friendship wasn’t enough. The demon simply pushed their friendship magic away.
“Perhaps we need all of us together to get rid of the demon.”suggested Violet.
“But Gosalyn,and I weren’t given friendship bracelets.”B.O.Y.D. pointed out.
“Then we’ll make you two one after we banish the demon!Now let’s banish this demon!”said Webby.
Gosalyn rolled her eyes. The whole ‘friendship is magic’ thing sounded ridiculous to her.But yet it worked for some reason.
“See, I told you that it’ll work!”Webby told Gosalyn after the demon was banished.
“Yeah,yeah.So,do B.O.Y.D. , and I get our friendship bracelets now?”asked Gosalyn.
“Of course!”
But Violet simply looked on.She was happy that the demon was banished, but this was the first time that all of the kids had been at a McDuck Manor sleepover, and it made her realize how ordinary she was compared to the others.
Huey,Dewey,Louie were the nephews of Scrooge McDuck,plus all three were special in their own way.Louie owned his business, and Dewey was already a pilot.Yes,Huey was a WoodChuck like her, but one day he’ll be a Senior WoodChuck like her.
Then there was Webby,May, and June.All three were clones,with Webby being a clone of Scrooge McDuck, and May, and June being clones of Webby herself.
Gosalyn was the sidekick of a superhero while B.O.Y.D. was created to fight crime.True, the others dealt with evil doers too, but not on a regular basis like Gosalyn,or were literally built for it for B.O.Y.D.
Then there was Lena,her friend,her sister, who was magical.Webbigail said that their friendship was magic, something Gosalyn scorned at,much like Violet did with magic before the Shadow War.But she had to wonder,would their friendship be still be magic without Lena.
“Violet!Hey,Violet!”came a voice.
It was Webby’s voice.
“Yes,Webbigail?”said Violet,hoping that Webby hadn’t noticed that she was distracted by her own thoughts.
“I asked what colors do you think fits B.O.Y.D. Red, and yellow? Or yellow, and blue? Or red, and blue?”asked Webby.
“I think the yellow, and blue are suitable for B.O.Y.D.”said Violet.
“Okay!”
“Now,if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to the bathroom.”said Violet,getting up.
This wasn’t true. Violet just wanted to be alone with her thoughts for a while, and knew if she told her friends what was bothering her they would try to comfort her.Not that Violet had a problem with that, she even knew it was a good idea to do that.But she wasn’t comfortable talking about her insecurities yet.
Just then,Violet heard voices downstairs.Curious, she headed towards the stairs to find out more.
“Why should Della work at your restaurant?!”came Scrooge’s voice.
“Because the doctor said I need to cut back on work!”
That was Emilie’s voice.
Violet’s curiosity got the better of her, and decided to follow the voices instead of just eavesdropping on the conversation.
“Why can’t Gladstone work at the restaurant?”Scrooge asked Emilie.
“Because I’m taking care of Emilie.”came Gladstone’s voice.
“Interesting.”whispered Violet.
From what she got from the conversation so far,Emilie’s doctor wanted her to take it easy with work, and her solution was to hire Della.But why Della,and not Gladstone,Violet didn’t know.She genuinely thought of telling the other kids,but decided to keep this to herself for now.
“You still haven’t answered my question!Why Della?”Scrooge repeated.
“She doesn’t have a job.”said Emilie.
“Yes she does!Piloting my plane!”
“Wow.Neoptism.”said Emilie,causing Gladstone to laugh.
“At least it’s a job!Gladstone doesn’t even have a job!”said Scrooge,clearly angry at what Emilie said, and Gladstone amusem*nt at it.
“At least Gladstone’s moved out of his Aunt Matilda’s house.Della only lived on her own when she was on the moon.”said Emilie.
Violet didn’t need to hear the rest of the conversation. She knew that Scrooge wasn’t going to have Della work at Emilie’s restaurant. She also knew that Emilie wasn’t going to give up on wanting Della at her restaurant. But the argument gave Violet an idea.
Violet decided to walk into the living room where the conversation was happening.
“Excuse me,I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation,but I believe that I have the solution to your problem.”said Violet when she entered the living room.
“Force Scrooge to admit that no matter what he’ll always favor Della over everyone else, and that Della’s an immature woman child?”asked Emilie.
“No.Also,woman child isn’t a word.It’s to hire me to work at your restaurant.”
The adults didn’t say anything for a bit.Then finally,Emilie said something.
“I’m sorry,but I don’t feel comfortable hiring a child.Child labor laws, and whatnot.”said Emilie.
“I understand. But what if my parents gave approval?”
“I suppose so.But you should know, I have very high standards regarding Franco Kosher Gourmet.It isn’t a kiddie restaurant.”
“I understand.”said Violet.

“So,what kind of restaurant is Franco Kosher Gourmet?”Ty asked Emilie.
Both Ty, and Indy were surprised to see Violet back home so early, but were even more surprised to find out why. They could both understand why Emilie would be so reluctant to hire Violet.But they couldn’t understand why Violet would want to work at Emilie’s restaurant. She never expressed a desire to work at Franco Kosher Gourmet,or any kind of restaurant for that matter.
“A classy sit-down restaurant with French, and Jewish cuisine.”said Emilie.
“And what would you have Violet do?”Indy asked.
“Considering her age,being part of the wait staff.But that requires a knowledge of knowing both French, and Hebrew.Do Violet know both French, and Hebrew?”
“I know a variety of languages.”interrupted Violet.
“Do you know French, and Hebrew?”Emilie asked Violet.
“Oui,madame,ah’en ken.”
Okay,you little show off.I’m not making any decisions without your fathers’ input.”
“Violet,are you sure you want to do this?”asked Indy.
“Yes.”said Violet.
“Are you certain?It’s a lot of hard work with a lot of stress.”said Ty,remembering his own time as a waiter.
“I’m certain.Besides,I’m not bothered by hard work, and stress.”said Violet.
Ty,and Indy looked at each other.If this was what Violet wanted,then okay.Besides,it wasn’t the weirdest thing that happened ever since she befriended Webby.
“Okay,Violet,if this is what you want.”said Indy.
“Then,okay.”added Ty.
“Thank you,Father,Papa.”said Violet.
“Great.You’ll begin training on Saturday at 2 p.m.”said Emilie,getting up.
“Thank you.”said Violet.
“No,thank you,Violet!Now Emilie will stop bothering me about Della working at her restaurant!”said Scrooge as he, and Violet began to head back to McDuck Manor.
Violet didn’t say anything.In retrospect,Della probably wouldn’t be working at Franco Kosher Gourmet no matter how much Emilie argued for it.Violet didn’t think she knew French,or Hebrew.

It had been a while since Violet had gone to the bathroom.But she wasn’t in the bathroom. She wasn’t even in the mansion anymore.
“I knew something was wrong!Violet was probably possessed by the demon!”said Webby in a panicked voice.
“Calm down,Pink,I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation on why Violet isn’t here.”said Lena,putting her hand on Webby’s shoulder.
Just then,Scrooge, and Violet entered the mansion.
“Violet!Where were you?! Did Uncle Scrooge get an exorcist to get the demon out of you?”Webby asked when the kids saw Scrooge, and Violet enter the mansion.
“No.We just went to see my parents.”answered Violet.
“Were you sick?”asked Lena,suddenly feeling guilty.Violet was her little sister,she should have noticed that if Violet wasn’t feeling well or not.
“No.Emilie just wanted their approval for me to work at her restaurant.”explained Violet.
“And?”
“They said yes.I’ll start training for my job on Saturday at 2 p.m.”
“I want to know the details.”said Louie.
“Of course.”said Violet.
The kids then went back upstairs so Violet could tell the story of her newfound employment at Franco Kosher Gourmet.Well,most of the story.
