Directions for WWE Following Clash at the Castle (2024)

The Hydro was hopping on Saturday, June 15. WWE held its first major show in Scotland and, as is usual with the Triple H era, it was a great night of wrestling. The crowd was hot, the action was fantastic and there were a few surprises along the way.

As the planes leave Glasgow, WWE will be full force ahead. There is no time to rest as Money in the Bank is just around the corner, but what directions should the company go in? Let’s look at a few possibilities.

CM Punk & Drew McIntyre Drama Will Ramp Up

The biggest story coming out of Clash at the Castle was CM Punk‘s run-in during the main event. It was a move that many expected would happen as Drew McIntyre and Punk have been joined at the hip since January.

It created a ton of heat and now that Punk has cost McIntyre twice one would assume that their program is ready to get physical. During his post-PLE press conference, Punk mentioned that he was planning on getting cleared shortly.

When that happens, expect himself and McIntyre to light a fire under their rivalry. It will be a program that headlines SummerSlam, but one that should start sooner rather than later.

The Judgement Day Needs To Fall

This is another slow-burn angle but one that needs to come to the forefront of Raw programming. There has been simmering animosity between The Judgement Day members for a while now, and failure to pull the trigger may ruin the eventual fallout.

Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan’s drama – and Damian Priest’s wanting to go at it alone in matches – should drive enough wedges for the group. The cracks are there but it is now the time to break the group up.

It could lead to a Finn Balor and Damian Priest World Title match at Money in the Bank.

Cody Rhodes Goes to Battle With The Bloodline

This could be the easiest one to make a guess on, based on the aftermath of the “I Quit” match this past Saturday. Once Cody Rhodes secured his victory, Solo Sikoa appeared beside him and he – along with The Bloodline – proceeded to attack the American Nightmare.

It was an obvious move by Sikoa to get himself into the WWE Championship picture. With Money in the Bank a month away, it looks like Rhodes will once again be intertwined with The Bloodline.

It is a new group so it will make for a fresh program and one that will get Sikoa into the main event. It will also give Rhodes a new opponent to combat after he soundly ended his feud with AJ Styles.

Otis Finally Has Enough

Chad Gable’s efforts to win the Intercontinental Championship fell short, again, in Scotland. From his reaction, it appears as if it was his last shot, so now he will turn his attention to Otis and Maxxine Dupri.

Otis left Gable hanging in his match, and this will not go unpunished by the leader of Alpha Academy. Gable will continue his bully act but there is no way that Otis will stand for it any longer.

WWE has been teasing a face turn for Otis for a few weeks now and this is the time. It can set up a great mini-feud that will keep Gable occupied until he is ready to compete in the Money in the Bank match.

Piper Niven Gets Another Shot

Piper Niven was fantastic in her championship match. She rarely gets a chance to shine like she did, and she has to have impressed the brass. Niven showed that she belongs in the main event, and while she may not get a title reign yet, another shot at the strap is well deserved.

Let’s be honest, Nia Jax and Bayley is going to be the money feud for SummerSlam, but Bayley will need something to do in the meantime. Piper is the perfect opponent for her. She gave Bayley all she could handle and there is a lot more they can do with this feud.

Money in the Bank Hype

The next PLE on the docket is one of the biggest of the year. Money in the Bank is always a highly anticipated night with the men’s and women’s ladder matches highlighting the show. With that, there is going to be plenty of build from WWE heading into July 6th.

Men like Jimmy Uso and Ludwig Kaiser have already announced themselves for the match but who else? There are plenty of options on the rosters and it will be interesting to see who checks their ticket to Toronto.

Sami Zayn Needs A New Challenger

Sami Zayn vanquished his bully problem at Clash at the Castle, so where does he go now? There are various options of who could step up to the ultimate underdog, but the best one might be Ludwig Kaiser.

Kaiser has been receiving a push as of late, going over Sheamus in the process. He is the perfect type of heel to enter into a program with Zayn.

Kaiser is a detestable arrogant wrestler who the fans love to hate. He would be great to put against Zayn as he could play the bully to Zayn’s underdog. Plus who wouldn’t want to see him get a Helluva Kick for good measure?
