Player of the year finalists
Eli Buxton
Sand Springs | Pitcher | Sr.
When it came to getting hot at the right time, Buxton and the Sandites epitomized that in 2024. Sand Springs stormed through the Union regional to earn a spot in the 6A state tournament. Sand Springs rode Buxton to a 9-3 victory in the state quarterfinals. The Sandites finished as the 6A runners-up with a 7-4 loss to Westmoore in the state finals. For the season, Buxton went 5-3 in 55⅓ innings with 82 strikeouts and a 2.15 ERA.
Jackson Farrell
Owasso | Pitcher| Sr.
Was nearly untouchable this season. The Arkansas signee went 10-0 with a 0.60 ERA. In 69⅔ innings, Farrell allowed only six earned runs and recorded 123 strikeouts and allowed only 15 walks. Hitters against Farrell batted .100. With Farrell leading the way, Owasso went 35-7 and reached the 6A semifinals. For his career, he had a 37-3 record and 0.59 ERA with 393 strikeouts in 260⅓ innings with only 111 hits allowed.
Ethan Holliday
Stillwater | Infielder| Jr.
If he’s a Holliday, it’s a given he can hit the ball. The son of former big leaguer Matt Holliday and brother of former Stillwater standout and former MLB No. 1 draft pick, Jackson Holliday, Ethan Holliday continued the tradition of a Holliday family member leading the way for the Pioneers. Ethan Holliday finished with a .409 batting average, .540 on-base percentage and .849 slugging percentage. He had five doubles, 12 home runs and 38 RBIs for a Stillwater team that finished 27-9 and made it to the 6A semifinals, where the Pioneers lost to eventual champion Westmoore.
Luke Williams
Owasso | Pitcher, Outfielder | Sr.
The Arkansas signee teamed up with Jackson Farrell to give the Rams a dynamic pitching duo this season. The two-way standout went 7-2 on the mound with a 1.28 ERA, logging 103 strikeouts in 60⅓ innings. On offense, Williams had a .387 batting average, .485 on-base percentage and .632 slugging percentage. His 41 hits included 10 doubles, two triples and four home runs with 32 RBIs. He also stole eight bases for the Rams, who finished the season 35-7 and in the 6A semifinals.
Coach of the year
Matt Brown | Sand Springs
Led the Sandites to a 29-12 record and first 6A state tournament berth since 2011. Sand Springs appeared in its first state baseball championship since 1978. After the season, he resigned as coach and accepted an assistant principal position at Charles Page High School.
